A data protection handbook written by our experts entitled, "99 Privacy Breaches To Beware Of”, was recently published by Marshall Cavendish where it was favourably received by the general public and those interested in data protection and privacy. To expand the readership for the book, Marshall Cavendish translated the book into Chinese. It has received positive reviews from regulators around the world including the European Union, Ghana and even Hong Kong. This publication is also recommended reading for professional certification.
Data Protection Excellence Network
In 2018, we launched the Data Protection Excellence Network (www.dpexnetwork.org) to turn Singapore into a regional hub for data protection with the objectives of promoting the awareness, best practices and education on data protection. Our partners now include Singapore Management University in Singapore (where we have since jointly launched two advanced certificates in data protection leading to an advanced diploma), International Islamic University of Malaysia, De La Salle University, Philippines, National Institute of Development Administration-NIDA, Thailand and the National Privacy Commission of the Philippines. The Advanced Certificates for data protection are currently the only two Advanced Certificates leading to an Advanced Diploma in Data Protection offered in Singapore and Asia.
When EXIN, a Netherlands based exam certification body which specialised in certification of IT professionals worldwide, started exams for operational aspects for the General Data Protection Regulation of Europe, four members of our team were invited to its data protection expert panel.
For such an intense subject, it is a pleasant surprise that the training is lively, hands-on and practical.
