Did you know that Religious Institutes are not exempted from the Personal Data Protection (PDPA) Act?

Despite the four-month hiatus by PDPC due to COVID-19, 54 organisations had been fined/ warned over PDPA breaches and SGD$ 2.4 million in fines had been issued just in 2020 alone.

Furthermore, on 1 Feb 2021, new amendments to the PDPA came into force. The PDPA amendments seek to strengthen the accountability of organisations and the effectiveness of PDPA compliance.
