Webinar Duration: 1.5 hr

Webinar Schedule: Just-in-time

Expiry: 31 October 2022

Data protection laws in Singapore and the European Union have been in force for quite some time - more than eight years for the Personal Data Protection Act and almost four years for the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). As more jurisdictions around the world, including China, India and ASEAN, implement their data protection laws, these frequently asked questions are worth examining:

  - What can organisations learn from the enforcement trends to date?

  - Which obligations or principles have been breached the most?

  - Has there been an upward trend in the amount of fines imposed?

  - How can organisations get started in ensuring compliance with these laws?

In this webinar, data protection officers/teams will learn about the importance of demonstrating accountability in the event of a data protection breach, the common risks to be aware of, the measures they can put in place, as well as the regulators' expectations and the evidence they require, to investigate and inform their enforcement actions.

Join Kevin Shepherdson, Head of the Data Protection Excellence Network, who will lead our panel of experts from Thailand, the Philippines and Singapore in this engaging and information-packed roundtable.
