Businesses now operate in an increasingly interconnected world, sharing sensitive data and access with third parties. This makes many processes easier, but also increases the levels of risk originating from third parties. It is imperative to have capabilities at hand to continuously monitor and manage third party risk and performance.

This module, Policy and Third Party Management of Data, provides participants with the understanding of vendor and policy management. In particular, the course discusses due diligence in selecting third party vendors and the types of data protections that should be included in the contract with the vendor.

The class will be divided into groups to carry out a simulated procurement and due dilgence exercise on an actual e-commerce platform. The idea is to have the groups apply the lessons taught in class and reinforced by this exercise.

TOPICS COVERED

  • About Third-Party Management
  • Governance
  • Third-Party Assessment / Due Diligence
  • Policies & Contractual Protection
  • Sustaining Third-Party Relationships
  • Responding to Disputes, Breaches & Exits
